Every picture…

On Friday we went to Hackney Archives to find a scene not unlike the end of Raiders – piles of boxes, stacked up ready for the move from Haggerston to swanky new premises in Dalston.

Fran had heard a while ago about a store of audio archive, recorded in the eighties. Our mission was to find out what they had on these old reel to reel tapes. He’s a peek of what might be in store for you…

There are forty of these index cards, documenting tapes recorded with the elderly of Hackney in the 1980s. I don’t think we’ve been this excited since the launch party.

But digitising these tapes is going to cost money – and it needs to happen soon. They’re starting to disintegrate, and we’re their best chance of being heard again.

Yes, this is where we ask you to donate. No, it doesn’t have to be much. Yes, all the information is here – so donate now.
